‘The Easiest Conclusion to Draw’: Why CZ Thinks Bitcoin Will Reach $200K Although It's Currently Below $100K

Changpeng Zhao’s Optimism for Bitcoin

Changpeng Zhao, founder and former CEO of Binance, recently claimed that Bitcoin could hit $200,000 soon. He shared this viewpoint on social media, referring to it as “the most obvious thing in the world.”

Zhao has been quite active on the platform over the past year, shifting his role from being an executive to more of a cryptocurrency ambassador. Lately, he’s been particularly vocal.

Bitcoin’s Path to $200,000

Zhao shared his previous thoughts on a crypto news channel, reiterating his confidence in Bitcoin’s future price.

With a following of 10 million on social media, he has earned a reputation as a significant figure in the crypto space. Known for making optimistic price forecasts, especially regarding Bitcoin, Zhao had a contentious interaction with the Biden administration a few years back, resulting in a four-month prison sentence in 2024 due to a major Justice Department case affecting the crypto industry.

Since his release from prison in September 2024, Zhao has actively sought to strengthen his position in the cryptocurrency market, particularly after receiving a presidential pardon from President Trump two months ago.

Current Bitcoin Valuation and Market Trends

As of now, Bitcoin is undergoing a recovery, trading just below $98,000. According to analytics platform Glassnode, several investors have exited long-term bearish positions in over 500 cryptocurrencies, which has led to the liquidation of substantial short interests.

Recent months have shown some notable trends in Bitcoin’s price.

In the derivatives market, Bitcoin’s Relative Strength Index (RSI) is now signaling a bullish trend for the first time in over three months, suggesting that there might be a shift from bearish to recovery sentiment.

If the bullish momentum continues and Bitcoin surpasses its all-time high of $126,200, there’s potential for it to reach $200,000 within the next few years, possibly even by 2026.

That said, there’s still considerable work ahead. The bulls need to break through the $100,000 resistance level swiftly to maintain momentum; failing to do so could set up a long-term bearish trend, jeopardizing recent gains.
