Kidnapping Case of Young Girl in Queens
A disturbing incident unfolded when an 11-year-old girl from Queens was kidnapped and taken to Long Island. Authorities reported that, upon their arrival, they found her undressed on the bed of the suspect, Nicholas Weaver, 28.
It appears that Weaver began contacting the girl through the messaging service Discord in early December. He allegedly picked her up from school on December 12.
According to reports, the girl’s mother was anxiously waiting at the bus stop when her daughter didn’t disembark. This raised her suspicions, prompting her to search for the child.
In her frantic search, the mother eventually discovered that her daughter had been seen leaving the school with an older man.
Immediately, she reported the situation to the police, who acted quickly. The NYPD managed to trace the girl to Weaver’s home in Bay Shore, leading Suffolk County police to step in.
Just a day after her disappearance, officers found the girl in a vulnerable state in Weaver’s residence.
Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney emphasized the critical efforts of law enforcement, noting how their swift coordination made a significant difference. “This incident underlines how vital their quick response is in recovering abducted children,” he stated.
Thanks to their diligence and expertise, the girl was safely returned to her family. Tierney also mentioned that this efficient investigation would ensure the suspect faces justice.
Weaver was indicted on January 9, facing charges that include child abduction and multiple counts of endangering a minor’s well-being.
During the proceedings, Supreme Court Judge Richard Ambro placed Weaver’s bail at $250,000 cash, or an alternative of $2.5 million partially secured bond.
Weaver has pleaded not guilty and could potentially face life in prison if convicted on the most severe charges. His next court appearance is scheduled for February 17.
His lawyer, Larry Flowers, chose not to comment on the situation.
