A man from Mississippi recently gained notoriety after he called the police on a father who brought his young daughters into a women’s bathroom. As a result, he has lost his position in real estate.
An official from Overstreet Properties in Starkville stated that the man was an independent contractor and had been acting on personal time, unrelated to the company at the moment of the incident.
After the incident garnered attention online, the agency decided to sever ties, asserting that his actions did not align with their values.
The altercation took place at a KwikTrip gas station in Alabama. Tyler Brodsky, the father in question, explained that he took his two daughters into the empty women’s restroom because they didn’t want to use the “dirty” men’s restroom.
The man confronted Brodsky about being in the women’s restroom with his daughters, subsequently calling the police. The encounter was later posted on TikTok and has since gone viral, amassing 24 million views.
Overstreet Properties released a statement acknowledging the video and emphasizing that it did not reflect the conduct or values they uphold. They reaffirmed their dedication to quality service across their client base and community.
Brodsky’s TikTok video captured the moment when an upset customer confronted him, claiming that a man with young girls should not be in the women’s bathroom. The confrontation visibly distressed Brodsky’s daughters, who were heard crying during the argument.
A female employee from KwikTrip later entered the restroom, closed it for privacy, and apologized to Brodsky’s family. The customer also asserted that the employee should have escorted the girls instead, arguing that Brodsky should not have been in there at all.
In a follow-up video, Brodsky shared that three police officers arrived and quickly determined there was no wrongdoing on his part, assuring him he had acted appropriately.
Brodsky indicated that the officers eventually asked the other man to leave the store, and he complimented how well the officers and KwikTrip staff treated his daughters amidst the distressing situation.
He concluded by expressing hope that his story might shed light on the unnecessary criticism parents often face when trying to look after their children.
