Incident Involving ICE Agent and Renee Nicole Good
Renee Nicole Good was shot four times by ICE agent Jonathan Ross while she was sitting in an SUV in Minneapolis last week, as outlined in an incident report.
According to the Minneapolis Fire Department incident report, Good, 37, was injured in the chest, arm, and head during a standoff between federal agents and protesters on January 7. She was found unresponsive with blood on her face and torso around 9:42 a.m.
Emergency responders noted that she was not breathing and exhibited an “incoherent” and “irregular” pulse. They observed gunshot wounds, including two on the right side of her chest, one on her left forearm, and tissue coming from the left side of her head. Blood was also noted leaking from her left ear.
The 911 caller reported, “They shot her,” mentioning that Good had not attempted to open the car door. The caller urgently requested an ambulance.
Good was extracted from the SUV and taken to a snowbank and then to the sidewalk, which was crowded with law enforcement and bystanders, as per the report.
When she reached the snowbank, Good had no pulse and was not breathing. Paramedics continued to administer CPR in the ambulance and at the hospital, but resuscitation efforts were halted at 10:30 a.m.
Video footage captured Good trying to move her car away from the ICE agents before Ross fired multiple shots into the vehicle’s window and windshield.
The Department of Homeland Security alleged that Good attempted to run over Ross during an immigration enforcement operation, asserting that the officer fired in self-defense. Later reports stated that Ross suffered from internal bleeding.
Good identified herself as a “poet and writer” and had recently moved to the city with her wife. Footage showed her bleeding and clearly distressed at the scene.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem claimed that Good was involved in a group of protesters “stalking and disrupting” ICE agents that day.
Her mother, Donna Granger, shared with local media that her daughter was “one of the kindest people” she had ever known.
