Recently, I took some time off and dove into a few interesting SNL documentaries and podcasts. If you have access to Peacock, I highly recommend checking out Downey wrote it, a documentary focused on comedy legend Jim Downey. It’s the kind of engaging piece you won’t want to miss. Along with that, there’s Ladies and Gentlemen… 50 Years of SNL Music also available on Peacock. And, of course, I can’t skip mentioning my favorite podcast of 2025—maybe even 2026 if they keep it up. It’s called The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast.
The hosts are the trio known as The Three Alvins (Andy Samberg, Akiva Shaffer, Jorma Taccone) and Seth Meyers, who adds a great dynamic. They navigate through topics like friendship and the New York Times’ daily Spelling Bee while reflecting on their moments from SNL.
On a brighter note, SNL is wrapping up its repeat episodes, and we can expect a new show soon. The next broadcast of Saturday Night Live is set to air on NBC.
