Controversy Surrounds New York Mayor’s Administration
The administration of New York’s new mayor is facing significant backlash due to some controversial social media posts that have recently surfaced.
Afua Atta Mensah, appointed as the city’s chief capital officer by Mayor Zoran Mamdani, previously made posts targeting liberal white women on the X platform before her appointment.
“The anti-white racism of Mamdani’s inner circle will be on display for all of New York to see,” the Young Republican Club of New York stated after uncovering these posts, as reported by the New York Post.
In one of her posts, she remarked, “Tax white meat!” referring to programs featuring wealthy individuals. Another message from 2020 expressed support for the statement, “There is no moderate path to black liberation.”
Additionally, she criticized white liberals, claiming that “We don’t talk about white liberal racism enough.” In response, she noted, “That’s true. That would require a series of conversations.”
In another instance, she was asked who feels like a police officer but isn’t one; her answer was, “White woman in a nonprofit organization.” After her promotion, a screenshot of her post was shared by NYYR, which they claimed was deleted shortly thereafter.
From NYYRC, a statement read, “I have my receipts and I’m here to win. These tweets by Afua Atta Mensah are just the tip of the iceberg, and New York is not going down without a fight.” They soon implied that Mamdani’s administration embodies anti-white sentiments.
Though only in office for less than three weeks, several members of Mamdani’s team have reportedly made radical statements. For instance, the housing czar has called for state control over housing and claimed that homeownership is a tool of “white supremacy.”
Another aide has advocated for abolishing the police, while yet another has labeled capitalism and its progeny as the real terrorism.
Interestingly, City Hall did not provide a comment regarding the equity director amid this unfolding situation.
