Colleen Hoover Updates Fans on Her Health
Best-selling author Colleen Hoover recently addressed the concerns of her fans after revealing she has been diagnosed with cancer. In a post shared on Friday, she clarified that, “Because the misleading clickbait made it sound like I was on my deathbed, let me explain: I no longer have cancer.”
Hoover detailed her journey, stating, “I was diagnosed sometime last year, the surgery was successful, and I just finished radiation yesterday.” She reassured her followers, repeating, “It’s over, everything’s fine, everything’s fine, everything’s fine. The doctor saw the doctor. Yeah.”
In her Instagram Story from January 12, Hoover reflected on her treatment, posting a photo in a hospital gown as she marked her “penultimate day of radiation therapy.” She humorously mentioned that she couldn’t blame her hair issues on Texas Oncology, as they were incredibly helpful. “I hope you don’t need it, but I highly recommend it,” she wrote.
Although she didn’t specify what type of cancer she had, she revealed that she had been privately managing her diagnosis for several months. Hoover first disclosed her health condition on a private Facebook fan page in December, which later made its way to social media.
During the process, she noted that while working on a film adaptation of her novel “Reminder of Him,” she had postponed addressing some recurring health concerns. After returning from filming in Canada, she sought medical advice and received her diagnosis.
In October, Hoover announced her absence from several promotional events for the film adaptation of “Regretting You,” citing an unavoidable surgery that would keep her from traveling for a while. Her most recent health update comes alongside heightened attention on the film adaptation of her well-known book “It Ends With Us.”
A legal dispute has been ongoing for about a year regarding incidents that reportedly happened on set during the filming of the “It Ends With Us” movie. Hoover expressed her feelings about the situation, mentioning, “It feels like a circus.” She emphasized the real impact it has on the careers of the actors involved and described it as a sad situation overall. The legal battle between the stars of the movie continues, with a trial date scheduled for March 2026.
