During his inaugural press conference as head coach of the Giants, John Harbaugh took a moment to honor his wife, Ingrid. Sporting a blue suit paired with a red tie, he introduced her to the audience and humorously noted that they didn’t necessarily need to stand together on stage.
“Ingrid is ready to go too,” Harbaugh stated, revealing his ambition to “win every game” against the Giants’ rivals. He expressed genuine enthusiasm, mentioning that “we are fired up.”
Harbaugh playfully described Ingrid as a “fighter” due to her unwavering support throughout his coaching career. “This profession is just wild,” he remarked, noting that in the NFL, it’s a year-round commitment filled with emotional highs and lows.
“It’s not just you; it’s your family too. Your wife is right by your side the whole time,” he added. “She helps me tune out outside noise, which is a huge deal. I couldn’t be prouder to call her my wife.”
Ingrid was present at the event with her in-laws, and Harbaugh mentioned that their daughter, Allison, couldn’t make it because she had class. He joked, “Our daughter Allison…she’s going to law school to survive.”
“I’m so grateful for my amazing wife and daughter—it’s just the three of us. Three peas in a pod, that’s how we see it. It’s really something special,” he reflected.
John and Ingrid met while he was working as a graduate assistant coach under his father at Western Michigan University. At that time, Ingrid was a student employed in the team’s baseball office.
Looking ahead, Harbaugh noted that he plans to start interviewing candidates for coaching positions soon. “We will be interviewing across the league,” he said, emphasizing his commitment to building the strongest coaching staff possible.
When questioned about transitioning after 18 seasons in Baltimore, he stated, “We’ll face everything that comes our way and give our best every single day.”
Harbaugh’s tenure with the Ravens came to an end following the 2025 season, where he recorded an 8-9 record, marking the first time since 2021 that the team missed the playoffs.
