For the evening’s inaugural ball, she changed into a strapless black and white gown by Hervé Pierre, accessorized with a black silk gazar choker and a diamond brooch from 1955, aligning with the monochrome theme set by her designers.

Reflecting on her past year, Melania Trump highlighted a range of achievements. Her initiatives have touched on domestic policy, global diplomacy, technology, and child welfare. Notably, she championed the Take It Down Act, targeted at curbing the nonconsensual sharing of explicit images, including those generated by AI. Furthermore, she established an online hub for foster youth, enhanced access to federal grants, and secured $25 million for transitional housing for aging foster youth through an initiative titled Developing the Future for America’s Children and Families.

Additionally, she introduced the Presidential AI Challenge, aimed at getting K-12 students involved in AI innovation, while also hosting a White House Task Force on AI Education. On an international front, she played a role in bringing together children displaced by the war between Ukraine and Russia and engaged in direct talks with President Vladimir Putin, resulting in 15 reunions of families. She also launched the Fostering the Future Together coalition at the UN General Assembly to advocate for safe technology access and education for children.

Her year also involved ongoing public service, including visits to children’s hospitals and military bases to support soldiers and their families. She received recognition as Fox Nation’s “Patriot of the Year,” secured legal victories against misinformation, and landed a $40 million agreement for her documentary, which is set to premiere on January 30, 2026, under her new production company, Muse Films.
