The White House clarified the noticeable bruise on President Donald Trump’s left hand that became a topic of discussion during the peace commission signing ceremony in Davos, Switzerland. White House press secretary Caroline Levitt mentioned that Trump incurred the bruise by accidentally striking his hand on the corner of an autograph table at the event.
Officials explained that the president tends to bruise easily, a side effect attributed to his daily aspirin intake, something his doctor has previously indicated. The images showing the bruise circulated widely on social media, leading to various speculations.
Trump has been vocal about his health, stating that White House doctors affirm he is in “perfect health.” He also noted he’s successfully “passed” his third consecutive cognitive function test.
Interestingly, Trump mentioned his choice to take large doses of aspirin daily, expressing a bit of superstition about taking lower amounts. He stated, “I want thin, good blood flowing through my heart. Does that make sense?”
He has, at times, concealed his hands with bandages and makeup in public appearances. Concerns about his health resurfaced after he disclosed undergoing an MRI scan in October, which led to further discussions about his health status. The White House later shared that these imaging tests were precautionary, aimed at identifying potential issues early and confirming overall well-being.
Recent cardiovascular imaging tests reportedly showed normal results, indicating no issues such as narrowed arteries or any abnormalities in the heart or major blood vessels. His cardiovascular system seems to be in very good shape overall.
