Sam Darnold Ready for NFC Championship Game

Sam Darnold seems prepared to take the field in the NFC Championship Game. Despite dealing with an oblique injury, he hasn’t been ruled out for the matchup against the Rams. On Friday, he mentioned to reporters that he feels ready to play.

“I feel great,” Darnold shared. “I’ve been feeling really good all week. It feels like everything is on track, so I’m optimistic heading into Sunday.”

The 28-year-old quarterback initially hurt his left side during practice earlier this month, but pushed through in the divisional round, completing 12 of 17 passes for 124 yards and a touchdown in a decisive victory over the 49ers.

Darnold’s practice participation was limited this week, which was part of the team’s overall plan to prepare for the game against Los Angeles on Sunday. Seattle’s head coach, Mike McDonald, reassured everyone that Darnold’s recovery is progressing as expected.

“The training staff is doing a great job, myself included,” Darnold noted. “We just have to take it one day at a time and ensure everything is in place for Sunday.”

Seattle and Los Angeles split their two regular-season matchups, with the Rams narrowly winning 21-19 in November, while the Seahawks pulled off a thrilling 38-37 overtime win in Week 16.

Excitement is palpable as the Seahawks prepare for Sunday’s home game, with Darnold emphasizing what it will be like at Lumen Field. “It’s going to be incredible,” he said. “I’m not sure how they pulled through last week, but I know our fans will be there for us. They always elevate our game, and we’re looking forward to their support.”
