Bad Bunny surprises Super Bowl fans with an incredibly 'queer' halftime performance

Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show Set to Be Political

Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny is gearing up for a Super Bowl LX halftime performance that promises to be quite political, as per insider reports.

Known as Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, Bad Bunny stirred up quite a bit of controversy leading up to 2025, including statements suggesting that audiences should “learn four months” of Spanish to grasp his performance, along with mocking President Trump in the music video for “NUEVAYoL” released on July 4th.

According to reports, his Style team has indicated that he plans to deliver a “political lightning strike” during the show.

Fashion Statement

Sources, described as stylists from his “glam team,” shared that Bad Bunny intends to don a dress during the halftime show. This choice aims to pay tribute to Puerto Rican “queer icons” as well as “generations of drag, resistance, and cultural rebellion.”

“He loves controversy. He really does push the envelope,” a stylist noted.

Unexpected Moves

One source mentioned that he seems to be unconcerned about potential backlash. “The NFL really has no idea what’s going to happen,” they said. Another source, only identified as a “friend,” added that while critics can complain, “the dress has already been sewn.”

The NFL’s Dilemma

There have been accusations against the NFL from the president, suggesting they’re diverting responsibility for performer choices due to content that may not align with the league’s audience. The NFL had previously announced Bad Bunny as a performer in a press release regarding the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show.

In the same press release, Sean “Jay-Z” Carter mentioned that Bad Bunny’s ability to mix genres, languages, and connect with diverse audiences makes him an exciting choice for the halftime event.
