A familiar group of activists has taken to Los Angeles City Hall and Police Commission gatherings, consistently disrupting proceedings in ways that lead to confusion and disorder.
While they don’t act as a single entity, their repeated appearances create a pattern that’s hard to ignore.
Some of the main figures leading these disruptions include:
Armando Hermann
A well-known attendee at various Southern California events, Hermann has a reputation for making provocative comments. He labels himself as a First Amendment defender, but many see him as a troublemaker due to his frequent use of profanity, racial slurs, and inflammatory symbols like swastikas and KKK imagery to incite reactions.
William Goode
As the founder of Film the Police, Goode is always involved in high-stakes situations with the LAPD. He often films police interactions, showcasing them on his platform, which has led to tension with law enforcement. His actions are viewed critically by police unions, who argue this puts officers in danger.
Andrew Grebner
A regular speaker at Police Commission meetings, Grebner is known for his laid-back critique of LAPD practices. He frequently accuses officers and city personnel of stifling free speech and is also active in tenant rights advocacy, expressing concern over how journalists are treated in these settings.
Jason Reedy
Reedy often appears at City Hall and Police Commission sessions with a child in tow, where he tends to shout threats and use vulgar language. He’s known for his disruptive presence and his role in organizing protests aimed at decreasing police budgets, aligning with the People’s City Council.
Dr. Melina Abdullah
A prominent voice calling for police abolition, Abdullah is a leader in BLM Grassroots. She emphasizes direct action and has led significant protests against LAPD’s practices, often confronting them head-on during meetings.
