Tragic Plane Crash Claims Lives in Maine

Lakewood Church, based in Houston, Texas, has confirmed that one of its staff members, a cherished individual, was among the six fatalities in a recent private jet incident in Maine. Shauna Collins, known for her positive spirit, was in transit for personal matters when the crash occurred on a Sunday evening.

According to reports, a Bombardier Challenger 600 was grounded for refueling in Bangor amid light snow and frigid temperatures. Just as it was set to depart, the aircraft overturned, leading to a fire.

Lakewood Church expressed its sorrow in a statement, saying, “It is with profound sadness that we inform you, our dear friend Shauna Collins was a passenger on the plane that tragically went down in Maine.” They noted her ability to bring joy to those around her, emphasizing the love they had for her and pledging support for her family during this challenging time.

Fourth Victim Identified as Hawaiian Chef

The aircraft was linked to a partner at Arnold & Itkin Trial Lawyers, a personal injury law firm in Houston. Reports indicate that Tara Arnold, who was an attorney at the firm and married to one of its founders, Kurt Arnold, was also on board, alongside Hawaiian chef Nick Mastroscusa.

Mastroscusa worked at a luxury travel company that the Arnolds founded. Interestingly, Collins was listed on the company’s website as an event designer and experience curator.

Currently, the director of Bangor International Airport has mentioned that the federal investigation is facing challenges due to severe weather, which includes deep snow enveloping the crash site.

Investigation Underway

federal investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are on the scene, working closely with local authorities. They have retrieved cockpit voice and data recorders for further examination. The state medical examiner’s office is also involved in identifying the victims and managing their remains.

The airport will remain closed until at least Thursday morning. Interestingly, before this incident, another plane had already aborted takeoff because of low visibility and required additional de-icing.

At the time of the crash, an accumulation of approximately 9.5 inches of snow was anticipated, although the snowfall was just beginning.
