Expensive Ticket Prices for LeBron James at MSG
TORONTO — If you plan to see LeBron James play at Madison Square Garden, get ready to spend big.
Tickets for Sunday’s Lakers-Knicks game are averaging around $912, marking the highest ticket prices in the NBA since Kobe Bryant’s last game in 2016, as reported by TickPick.
While James hasn’t officially retired, he is 41 years old and faces an uncertain contract situation, making this potentially his final game at his favorite venue.
TickPick indicates that this game’s ticket prices are 20% higher than the second most expensive matchup of the season, which is the Warriors-Lakers game scheduled for February 7, where tickets average $760.
For reference, tickets for Kobe’s final game against the Jazz averaged $1,137.
Last time LeBron played at MSG was on February 1, 2025, coinciding with Luka Doncic’s trade to the Lakers.
Coach’s Hope for Gershon Yabusele
Regardless of how long Gershon Yabusele stays with the Knicks, Coach Mike Brown emphasizes the importance of making the most of his playing time and being a supportive teammate.
“He’s going to play whatever minutes we give him,” Brown noted. “Everyone needs to continue to play hard on both ends, take good shots, and rebound. Whether he plays 10 minutes, two minutes, or none, he has to be ready and cheer for his teammates.”
Trade Talks Surrounding Yabusele
Reports suggest the Knicks are in discussions with multiple teams to possibly trade Yabusele. Despite being brought in during the summer to strengthen their bench, his stint hasn’t really gained traction.
He has been on the outskirts of the playing rotation lately, having only clocked more than nine minutes in one of his last eight games.
A significant hurdle in trading Yabusele is that his player option for next season is approaching $6 million.
Injury Concerns
Josh Hart (ankle soreness) and Miles McBride (ankle injury management) are both listed as questionable for Friday night’s game against the Trail Blazers.
They were also questionable before Wednesday’s victory against the Raptors, with Hart managing to play.
Star player Deni Avdija from the Blazers is doubtful for Friday’s game due to lower back issues.
Scheduling Updates
The Knicks’ game in Memphis has been rescheduled to April 1 due to a prior postponement caused by a snowstorm. This match will now be part of a four-game road trip and will take place on the second night of a back-to-back series, as the original game was set for March 18.
