Virginia Democrats Accused of Pressuring Military College VMI with Funding Threats over DEI Issues

On Tuesday, the Virginia Democratic Party introduced a resolution in the House of Delegates to create a special committee tasked with investigating the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) to assess the continuation of its funding.

This initiative aligns with the party’s ongoing attempts to reestablish diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies in Virginia, initiatives that were rolled back following Donald Trump’s election in 2024.

Rep. Rob Whitman, a Republican from Virginia, expressed concern to FOX News Digital, stating, “This undermines VMI and its mission.” He asserted that such actions could be detrimental to Virginia and to the many military and community leaders who have emerged from VMI.

Whitman described the situation as “reprehensible,” suggesting it reflects a troubling trend in Richmond.

VMI Cadets Respond to Democratic Threats Against Military Institute

Cadet Michael Ferrara and Regiment Commander Devin Orsenne spoke out to clarify VMI’s values and counter the accusations that led to the threats from the Virginia Democrats. Ferrara noted, “There’s some confusion around the cadets about VMI’s role,” and emphasized the institute’s commitment to producing respected leaders.

He highlighted VMI’s notable alumni, claiming the institute has produced around 300 generals, seven Medal of Honor recipients, and a Nobel Prize winner. Ferrara, who recently graduated and is set to join the U.S. Air Force, said he was motivated to attend VMI to serve his country.

Teachers Union Faces Criticism after Video Protests Against ICE

Members of the Chicago Teachers Union were filmed protesting against federal immigration enforcement measures at a local Target last Friday. This act was met with online criticism. A video circulated showing union members carrying anti-ICE signs and questioning Target employees about their stance regarding ICE.

Some social media posts suggested that Target, as a private business, has the ability to protect its employees from ICE, yet, critics argue, it continues to compromise its DEI commitments.

VCU Nurse Dismissed for Controversial Videos Targeting ICE Agents

A nurse from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) was fired after creating videos that appeared to suggest harmful tactics against ICE agents. VCU Health confirmed the nurse’s termination, stating they take such matters seriously and aim to uphold safety and integrity in healthcare. The videos, which went viral, prompted an investigation by both VCU and hospital police.

In one of her videos, the nurse described methods of “sabotaging” efforts against ICE, including referencing the paralyzing drug succinylcholine. This has raised serious concerns among critics regarding the impact of political ideologies on medical ethics.

Several student organizations at the University of Minnesota are spearheading a “national shutdown” in opposition to federal immigration efforts, collaborating with far-left groups.
