The ex-wife of Jill Biden’s former spouse expressed her concerns about his prior romantic involvement back in 2020. Now, five years later, he stands accused of murdering her in their home in Delaware.
During a 2020 interview with Inside Edition, Linda Stevenson shared insights about her long-standing marriage with William “Bill” Stevenson.
“She was sitting across the bar with a mutual friend,” Bill recounted in a conversation with Inside Edition’s Stephen Fabian—this was some five years ago. He was married to Jill Biden for a brief period in the 1970s.
“I asked, ‘Is that Linda?’ He replied, ‘Yes.’ And from that moment, we were inseparable,” he added.
“Quite the romantic, isn’t he?” Fabian teased, prompting a smile from Linda.
“Yes, absolutely,” she responded, gently holding Bill’s hand. Fabian remarked about Bill’s persistence, to which Linda affirmed, “Very much so.”
On Monday, Bill was arrested and charged with the murder of his current wife, Linda, aged 64, who was found deceased in their Oak Hill, Delaware home on December 28th.
During the 2020 interview, Bill had alleged that former President Joe Biden and Jill lied regarding their first meeting, which purportedly took place after Jill divorced him following a devastating car accident that claimed the lives of Joe’s first wife Neilia and their daughter.
Bill insisted he was the one who introduced Jill to Joe back in 1972, while they were all still married, and noted they were working together on Joe’s initial Senate campaign.
“I was present in the kitchen with Joe, Jill, Neilia, and I introduced them,” he claimed.
A representative for Joe and Jill countered at the time, stating, “These claims are fictitious. Joe and Jill Biden’s relationship is well-documented.”
Now, Bill, 77, is being held on a $500,000 bail after his first-degree murder charge.
Police were summoned to their home on December 28 following a domestic call and discovered Linda unresponsive on the living room floor. They could not revive her. The official cause of death hasn’t been disclosed yet, but after a thorough investigation, Bill was charged with murder.
As of Tuesday, representatives for Jill and Joe had not responded to inquiries regarding the situation.
It remains unclear who is representing Bill in the ongoing criminal proceedings.
