William Stevenson's spouse described him as a romantic years prior to the reported murder.

The spouse of William Stevenson, Jill Biden’s former husband, described her as quite a romantic in an interview that happened almost five years prior to her suspected murder last December.

During the interview, which occurred in 2020 while Joe Biden was campaigning against Donald Trump, Stevenson and his second wife, Linda, shared heartfelt insights about their relationship.

“I saw her sitting at the bar with a mutual friend,” Stevenson recounted. “When I asked, ‘Is that Linda?’ and he confirmed, I knew from that moment we wouldn’t be apart.”

In a light-hearted exchange, the interviewer commented, “You’re a romantic, aren’t you?” to which Linda responded with, “Yes, absolutely,” while smiling and holding Stevenson’s hand. “He was quite persistent,” the interviewer remarked, and she agreed, adding, “Very much so.”

In an alarming turn of events, Stevenson, 77, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder concerning the death of his wife, Linda, who was 64. New Castle County police stated that she was discovered unresponsive at their home after officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on December 28.

Following her passing, her body was sent to the Delaware Division of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy, though the cause of death had not been disclosed as of Wednesday.

Linda’s obituary noted her sudden passing but strikingly did not mention her husband among the survivors. This omission raised eyebrows, particularly when a friend questioned Stevenson on Facebook about it, saying, “Your wife’s obituary mentioned everyone except you. Is there an explanation for that?”

After his arrest, Stevenson’s social media posts disappeared, though it’s unclear who was behind the deletions and when they occurred.

Currently, Stevenson remains in custody, unable to afford the $500,000 bail following a lengthy investigation that culminated in an indictment by a grand jury. It’s worth noting that he was married to Jill Biden from 1970 until their divorce in 1975, after which she married Joe Biden in 1977.

As for Jill Biden, a spokesperson for the former president and first lady conveyed that she would not be commenting on the situation.
