A Look at Recent Weddings of Trump Officials

Olivia Craighead from New York Magazine’s The Cut reflected on the fashion choices of attendees at the recent wedding of two Trump administration officials. She pointed out, quite sarcastically, that “basically no one could bat an eye,” suggesting that how presentable one looks has become quite subjective.

On Saturday, Alex Bruesewitz, a prominent podcaster aligned with Donald Trump, tied the knot with former Miss Nevada, Carolina Urrea. Urrea donned a large, eye-catching white ball gown layered over what appeared to be a lace bodysuit.

In response to the magazine’s critique, Bruesewitz jokingly remarked on X, “Apparently New York Magazine is blind,” sharing a picture of the two together.

Craighead continued, making a jab at rapper Sexy Red, noting her “classy decision” to perform in a white bodysuit at her wedding, possibly with a hint of sarcasm. She admitted that she aligns with the criticism of Sexy Red’s fashion choices, adding that the musical style isn’t really her favorite.

Shifting gears, Craighead then touched upon the wedding of Dan Scavino, a Deputy Chief of Staff, and Erin Elmore. Regarding their ceremony at Mar-a-Lago, she quipped that the theme seemed to be “bad accessories,” pointing specifically at a scarf worn by Elon Musk. While Musk might have chosen it due to a chill in the air, Craighead implied that it was deliberately part of his outfit.

In her reflection, Craighead concluded that the two MAGA weddings showcased a lack of taste among their hundreds of guests. She suggested that if they’re going full throttle on political branding, they should at least consider their aesthetics. Notably, she left out a mention of Attorney General Pam Bondi, who attended Scavino’s wedding in a professional black floral skirt paired with a red blouse.

Craighead briefly acknowledged White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt, but didn’t critique her attire, perhaps because it wasn’t as offensive in her eyes. Leavitt sported a modest black dress at Scavino’s wedding and an asymmetrical red number at Bruesewitz’s event.

The men at the weddings, including FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, were mostly seen in tuxedos, which gave off a traditional vibe, contrasting with the more flamboyant choices made by some guests. Rapper Nicki Minaj also made an appearance at the Bruesewitz wedding, wearing something that matched her signature style—revealing but not excessively flashy.
