Chrysler Issues Recall for Over 450,000 Vehicles

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced that Chrysler is recalling over 450,000 vehicles, along with more than 2,000 trailer modules, due to potential brake system failures that could elevate the risk of accidents.

In two notices released on Monday, NHTSA indicated that a total of 456,287 vehicles are involved in the recall, in addition to 2,871 tow trailer modules.

The vehicles in question feature faulty modules that were deemed improperly designed, which could lead to some potentially dangerous situations.

Moreover, the recall affects various models: the 2026 Jeep Cherokee, 2024-2026 Jeep Wagoneer S, and the 2025-2026 Ram series, including the 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500, as well as certain Mopar tow trailer modules.

These defective modules might cause either the trailer’s brake lights to malfunction or the brakes themselves to stop functioning, compromising visibility and heightening the chances of a collision.

If you have one of the recalled tow trailer modules installed, you can visit a Fiat Chrysler Automobiles dealer to get it replaced for free. In cases where the module is not present, the dealership will repurchase the item.
