Emotional Speech at NFL Honors
During the NFL Honors Ceremony in San Francisco, Giants quarterback Jackson Dart’s mother, Kara, delivered an emotional tribute highlighting her son’s qualities beyond just his athletic achievements.
She spoke movingly before the 2025 AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award was presented to Panthers wide receiver Tetailoa McMillan.
“Jackson has always had a talent for sports, but it’s not just the statistics that make him stand out,” Kara noted. “He embodies what it means to be a competitor.”
She continued, “His drive to be exceptional is something really special. He can connect with everyone in the locker room, and his love and loyalty for family and teammates are truly remarkable. Jackson strikes a balance between deep confidence and genuine humility.”
“Jackson, I love you, and I’m incredibly proud of you. I look forward to seeing what lies ahead.”
As McMillan accepted the award—having received 41 of 50 first-place votes—Dart was seen smiling in the audience with his girlfriend, Marissa Ayers, and father, Brandon.
Besides Dart, the other nominees included Saints quarterback Tyler Schau, Patriots running back Treveyon Henderson, and Buccaneers wide receiver Emeka Egbuka. Seahawks offensive lineman Gray Zabel took the remaining two first-place votes.
On stage, Kara, along with family and friends of the finalists, expressed pride and admiration for their loved ones.
Recently, Dart and Ayers shared their relationship on social media, making their public debut on the red carpet at NFL Honors.
Ayers, known for her appearance as a ring girl at the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua fight in December, has been spotted at several Giants games this season, including on the sidelines during the team’s loss to the Patriots on “Monday Night Football.”
