A news outlet in Arizona has received an update concerning the Nancy Guthrie case, as reported on Friday.
KOLD 13 News from Tucson shared that a report from the Pima County Sheriff’s Office mentioned a new statement. However, no specific details were provided.
“The FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department are aware of additional messages regarding Nancy Guthrie,” the announcement indicated. “Investigators are currently verifying the authenticity of the information contained in these messages.”
The officials encouraged anyone with information to reach out to the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI. They also noted that this constitutes new information in the ongoing investigation.
Brian Entin, a journalist, pointed out on social media that investigators have returned to Nancy’s residence. They’ve started blocking off the road and have requested media to leave for “investigative purposes.”
As the investigation unfolds, the FBI continues to offer a reward of up to $50,000 for information that could lead to Nancy Guthrie’s recovery or the capture of those responsible for her disappearance.
Guthrie, NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie’s mother, was reported missing on February 1 after she didn’t arrive at church.
Sheriff Chris Nanos mentioned that Nancy is believed to have been abducted while she was asleep, and they are actively looking into various suspects.
A blood trail confirmed to be Nancy’s was found outside her front door recently. Tracy Walder, an FBI special agent, suggested that Nancy may have been stalked prior to her disappearance.
TMZ founder Harvey Levin indicated that investigators expanded their search area after supposedly receiving a ransom note demanding billions in Bitcoin. The police acknowledged an earlier report regarding a potential ransom note related to Guthrie’s case, reassuring the public they take all tips and leads very seriously.
Walder commented that he feels this situation may not revolve solely around financial gain. “I think this could involve someone obsessively connected to Savannah due to her public profile, possibly aiming to get closer to her,” he reflected. There’s a suggestion that the person may have ties to Savannah through her work.
In their efforts, Savannah and her siblings have publicly asked for “living evidence” regarding their mother’s well-being.
Camron Guthrie has also reached out, urging those connected to Nancy’s situation to get in touch with him.
