Authorities remove SUV from Nancy Guthrie's residence and dismantle wired device from roof following neighbor's tip, according to a report.

On Friday, authorities confiscated an SUV parked in Nancy Guthrie’s garage in Arizona, following a tip from a neighbor. They took away some wired equipment found on the vehicle’s roof.

Over a dozen police cars descended on the Guthrie home located in the Catalina Foothills, just north of Tucson, as part of a large search for a missing 84-year-old woman. This operation unfolded late in the afternoon.

A tow truck was called to remove the believed-to-be Guthrie-owned blue Subaru, with police supervising as it was taken to a secure location near the Pima County Sheriff’s Office.

While the exact reason for taking the vehicle remains unclear, it seems that the elderly woman may have been abducted during the night between Saturday and Sunday.

Savannah Guthrie, an NBC Today show host and the daughter of Nancy Guthrie, has publicly asked her mother’s captors for her safe return, alongside her siblings.

Video footage captured an FBI agent entering the Guthrie home, inspecting the roof, and filming what seemed to be a camera, as reported by Fox News.

Former NYPD Lieutenant Paul Mauro suggested that the device might be a camera that had gone unnoticed in the initial days of the investigation.

“They recovered a new camera on the roof that they evidently weren’t aware of. We have no information on why it was missed or what it revealed,” Mauro commented.

Mauro also mentioned that local residents had installed wildlife cameras, which might have captured unusual movements.

Laura Gargano, a neighbor, reported her observations to police regarding the roof’s appearance, noting it seemed cleaner than those of nearby homes.

“When I checked the aerial photo, the roof looked like it had been painted recently. Usually, after repainting, a roof doesn’t stay clean for long, especially after all the rain we’ve had lately,” Gargano said.

Timeline of Savannah Guthrie’s mother’s disappearance:

Gargano suggested that detectives investigate the contractor responsible for the roofing work before the woman vanished.

“If you’re looking for those who’ve been around, that could be a good lead to follow,” she added cautiously. “Maybe it leads nowhere, but I just thought it was worth mentioning.”

Authorities are currently looking for another vehicle that may be linked to Nancy’s disappearance, based on a tip regarding a “vehicle of interest.”

Police responded to the Circle K store in Tucson after receiving a tip, and an employee provided security footage.

As of now, it’s uncertain whether this vehicle relates to the alleged kidnapping or if these tips are still valid.

Investigators, including federal and county officials, are looking into the validity of a “new message” sent to a local news station, which resembles an earlier ransom note sent to different broadcasters.

The FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Office stated they are “actively verifying the authenticity of the details within the messages.”

KOLD 13 News, an Arizona-based CNN affiliate, mentioned that the message had been forwarded to law enforcement shortly before this statement was released.
