Representative Crockett’s Take on Immigration Policies

During an appearance on MS NOW’s “The Weeknight,” Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) expressed her viewpoint that true patriotism involves standing against President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.

Crockett mentioned, “We’re left guessing when it comes to their open statements—not just from Trump but also figures like J.D. Vance. We’re the ones who are openly targeted. There’s a distinct lack of respect for the contributions of all individuals in this country. People didn’t come here out of mere desire; many were brought against their will, while others, like immigrants, seek safety and a new beginning. Whether it was through help from donations or other means, we’re facing an economy that’s declining for multiple reasons, with immigration policies being a significant factor. It’s frustrating because when he promised to go after the bad actors during his campaign, we knew that wasn’t entirely truthful. Telling me that showing up at elementary schools and taking children is what makes America great? How does that even make sense?

Crockett continued, “We need to explain that better. Liam has become a symbol, but plenty of kids are standing out, whether in the context of school integration or otherwise. There are so many kids involved—some are as young as a month old. How can anyone take pride in what’s happening right now? To me, true patriotism means resisting this.”
