A familiar rivalry is set to unfold on Olympic ice tonight.
The qualifying rounds for the women’s ice hockey tournament have wrapped up, and February 10th marks the showdown between the United States and Canada. Both teams are currently undefeated, but only one can hold on to that record by the end of the game.
Leading up to the Olympics, the two teams faced off in a four-game rivalry series, where Team USA outperformed Canada with a score of 24-7. So far in the Olympics, the Americans have consistently scored five goals in each of their Group A victories.
However, Canada received a tough setback in their last match against the Czech Republic. Captain Marie-Philippe Poulin sustained a lower body injury and won’t be playing today. She was just one goal away from tying the Olympic scoring record.
