Chapel Lawn Quits Talent Agency Over Epstein Connection
Famous singer Chapel Lawn has announced her departure from a prominent talent agency after it came to light that the agency’s founder has ties to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
On social media Monday, the “Pink Pony Club” artist stated, “As of today, I am retiring from being represented by Wasserman, the talent agency led by Casey Wasserman.” This move marks her exit from Wasserman Music.
In her statement, Chapel emphasized her commitment to high standards for her team, adding, “Artists, agents, and employees shouldn’t be expected to overlook behavior that conflicts with our moral values.”
Casey Wasserman, who leads the organizing committee for the LA28 Olympics, is under increasing pressure to resign following his name’s association with Epstein’s records.
Newly released documents have revealed inappropriate email exchanges between Wasserman and Epstein’s associate, Ghislaine Maxwell. Wasserman has since expressed regret over these communications, which occurred in 2003, before the public became aware of Maxwell’s criminal activities. He maintained there was no personal or business connection to Epstein.
Wasserman also manages well-known figures such as Adam Sandler, Brad Pitt, and Kendrick Lamar, but the controversy surrounding him continues to grow.
Evidently, with calls for change, Roan has publicly stated, “I refuse to stand by passively.” She insists that artists deserve to express themselves in ways that align with their values and ensure their safety and dignity.
Los Angeles officials have voiced their concerns, urging Wasserman to resign from the LA28 board. LA County Supervisor Janice Hahn commented, “Having him representing us on the world stage will distract our athletes and the hard work needed to prepare for 2028.”
The situation within Wasserman’s agency seems to be deteriorating. Reports suggest there may be a wave of exits, with pop singer Billie Eilish leaving the agency in 2024 amid allegations of Wasserman’s misconduct. Recently, Bethany Cosentino, known for her solo work and as a member of Best Coast, also departed due to the agency’s Epstein connections.
Roan has made headlines as a politically engaged figure, drawing attention for her earlier comments about the 2024 presidential candidate Kamala Harris, later clarifying her stance to support Harris over Donald Trump.
