Sam Darnold Celebrates Super Bowl Win with Supporters
Sam Darnold is basking in the glory of winning the 2026 Super Bowl, surrounded by those closest to him.
Just two days after the Seahawks topped the Patriots 29-13, Darnold’s fiancée, Katie Hoefnagle, shared glimpses of their postgame celebration on her Instagram Stories. Among the highlights was a visit to Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
Following the game, Hoefnagle rushed to the field at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara and celebrated with an affectionate hug for Darnold, 28.
Later, it was her moment to lift the Lombardi Trophy as the Seahawks’ tenacious defense thwarted Drake Maye and others, securing the franchise’s second championship.
“My role was straightforward: take care of the ball,” Darnold said, having completed 19 of 38 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown. “If it meant taking a sack or turning it over, I’d do that. I approached the game that way.”
This victory was particularly meaningful for Darnold, who has faced ups and downs earlier in his career.
The former first-round Jets pick was often overlooked after tough tenures in New York and Carolina.
After being a backup in San Francisco during the 2023 season, he stepped into a starting position in Minnesota, where he revitalized his career, posting an impressive 14-3 record.
Last March, Darnold signed a three-year contract worth $100 million with Seattle.
Hoefnagle had announced their engagement ahead of the 2025 season and joined Darnold as the celebration kicked off Sunday night.
They then headed to Southern California, where Darnold enjoyed a visit to the “Happiest Place on Earth” alongside Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III.
As Seahawks stars greeted fans during a parade, Darnold took a moment to snap a picture with Hoefnagle in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.
“Go Hawks!!” he posted on Instagram on Tuesday, reflecting on the triumph.
In a sweet reply, Hoefnagle expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “I love you and the Seattle Seahawks.”
The couple made their relationship public on Instagram in 2023.
