Police Rush To Determine Reason After Apprehending School Stabber At Mosque

Incident at London School Leads to Arrest

A 13-year-old boy was taken into custody near a mosque on Tuesday, facing charges of attempted murder following the stabbings of two classmates at a London school.

This unsettling event took place in a classroom just before the lunch break. Reports indicate that the assailant allegedly shouted “Allah Akbar” while using a knife to stab a fellow 13-year-old in both the neck and back. After that, he reportedly ran through the school’s hallways, where he attacked a 12-year-old boy before escaping the premises.

Detective Chief Superintendent Helen Flanagan commented, “We’re exploring various potential motives for the incident. However, unlike a separate occurrence the previous night, we have not classified this as a terrorist act.” This statement was made as reporters sought clarification regarding the ongoing investigation.

According to police, emergency services were alerted to Kingsbury High School at 12:39 p.m., just nine minutes after the suspect’s arrival at approximately 12:30 p.m. Armed officers reached the scene within 13 minutes, but the suspect had already fled.

Both injured boys were rushed to the hospital due to serious injuries, with one being prioritized for immediate treatment at the main trauma center. Fortunately, authorities later confirmed that both victims are currently stable, and their injuries are not life-threatening.

The suspect, identified as a former student of the school, was apprehended hours later near the mosque. This followed a public tip-off concerning his behavior around 4:15 p.m. Police subsequently recovered the knife believed to have been used in the attack.

“It seems there are no special ties between the suspect and the mosque,” Flanagan stated. “It could very well be that his presence there was coincidental. The mosque community has been quite helpful during our investigation.”

The police also confirmed that the suspect is a British national and has been living in the UK, but they refrained from disclosing further details about his background, citing concerns over child protection laws. They added that they do not believe anyone else was involved in the stabbings.
