Activist Against Grooming Gangs Tommy Robinson Leaves Britain After Reported ISIS Threat

Tommy Robinson’s Family Flee UK Due to Threats from ISIS

Tommy Robinson, known for his activism against grooming gangs and his work as a citizen journalist, announced that he and his family have had to leave the UK. He cited threats from ISIS as the main reason for their departure.

Robinson mentioned that his name had surfaced in “ISIS-related publications,” prompting the family to leave the country “indefinitely.” He expressed deep concern for his family’s safety, stating that remaining in the UK posed a significant risk given the potential for extremist targeting.

On Friday night, activists shared what they claimed was a phone call between Robinson and a Bedfordshire Police officer. During this call, the officer informed Robinson that authorities had received intelligence indicating that ISIS publications were inciting violence against him.

The publication in question was identified as Yargar, associated with the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP). The police noted that this material is classified as banned terrorist content in the UK.

Moreover, the officer pointed out that Robinson’s presence in the publication had been reported to the police’s counterterrorism division. Despite the apparent danger to both Robinson and his family, the officer stated that he was not legally allowed to carry a weapon for self-defense in public.

This situation unfolded just months after Robinson was acquitted of terrorism charges in the UK, stemming from his refusal to provide a mobile phone PIN during a border check back in 2024. The request had been made under the Terrorism Act 2000, which could have resulted in a lengthy prison term and a potential label as a terrorist.

Robinson argued against sharing his PIN, as his phone contained sensitive information collected during his journalistic work. Ultimately, a judge dismissed the case in November, suggesting that the prosecution might have been politically influenced.

Robinson has long maintained that the British government is misusing the law to target him for his views against Islam and for bringing attention to the exploitation of white working-class girls by predominantly Pakistani grooming gangs.
