Amber Glenn shares uplifting message following significant Olympics mistake

Amber Glenn’s Tough Day at the Olympics

Amber Glenn is well aware that brighter days lie ahead, despite a rough outing in her short program at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics.

The 26-year-old figure skater took to Instagram to share some words of encouragement after a significant error during her routine set to Madonna’s “Like a Prayer,” which placed her in 13th position.

In her post, she shared a message that resonated: “The world has ended for me too many times, but tomorrow still comes. Keep going.” It featured a cute dog wearing a baseball cap, originally from the @the_positive_core account.

Glenn, representing Team USA as part of the Blade Angels, felt the pressure when she landed a double loop instead of the intended triple, leading to tears at the Milan Ice Skating Arena.

Her mistake resulted in earning 0 points for that element, contributing to her overall score of 67.39 after adding in her component scores of 33.20 for composition, presentation, and skating skills.

In contrast, Japan’s Ami Nakai led the pack with a score of 78.71 points.

Following her performance, Glenn was visibly emotional when she reached out to her coach, Damon Allen, from the ice, simply saying, “I got it.”

Fortunately, she’ll have another opportunity to shine during Thursday’s free skate.

Her teammates, Alisa Liu and Isabeau Levitt, fared better in the short program, finishing in third and eighth places with scores of 76.59 and 70.84, respectively.

2026 Winter Olympics

The last time the United States secured a medal in women’s figure skating was back in 2006 in Turin when Sasha Cohen snagged silver.

It’s been quite a journey for Team USA this time around.

Ilya Marinin, dubbed the “Quad God,” had been a gold medal favorite but slipped twice in his program, ultimately ending up eighth in the men’s free skate last Friday.

At present, the United States is third in the total medal count, trailing Norway (32) and Italy (25) with a total of 24 medals, including seven golds, eleven silvers, and six bronzes.
