Jelly Roll’s Fear of Magic
Jelly Roll doesn’t seem to have a fondness for magic, it appears. Magician TJ Salta took home a staggering $500,000 on the finale of Netflix’s *Star Search*. After he was announced as the winner, Jelly Roll, one of the show’s judges, admitted to his fears surrounding magicians.
While being interviewed by comedian Anthony Anderson on the red carpet, Jelly Roll approached. Anderson joked about Jelly Roll being scared of magic, yet now seemingly obsessed with it.
“I mean, when I got into this, I wasn’t a fan of magic,” Jelly Roll said. Still, he expressed an interest in seeing Salta perform again, even going as far as to say he would buy tickets.
He reflected on his feelings, stating, “It just got creepy — creepy, not exactly scary. Just weird. It still sends chills down my spine, but yeah, I’d totally buy a ticket.”
For the finale, alongside Jelly Roll, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Chrissy Teigen served as judges while Anderson hosted. The finalists included not only Salta but also Harry Merlin Piper, Duo Vespertilio, and Spud Howard.
After winning, Salta shared her surprise: “Oh my god. It was such a shock. The entire journey has been a mental and spiritual battle, and to feel this gratitude now is overwhelming.” She appreciated the support she received throughout the process, acknowledging all the behind-the-scenes effort involved.
In closing, Salta highlighted the talent showcased that night, saying, “Seeing the love and recognition for everyone’s hard work is just a dream come true.”
