Actor Peter Greene, known for his roles in films like “Pulp Fiction,” was found dead in December at his apartment in New York City. The New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner announced that his death was the result of an accidental gunshot wound.
Greene, 60, had a gunshot wound to the left armpit, which resulted in a significant injury to the brachial artery. This artery is crucial as it supplies blood to the arm and hand.
The medical examiner confirmed that the cause of death was accidental.
Greene’s manager, Greg Edwards, communicated Greene’s passing to media outlets back in December. He mentioned that Greene died in his Manhattan place. Interestingly, neighbors reported hearing Christmas music blasting from his apartment around December 10, leading to a welfare check on December 12, when Greene was discovered.
Edwards spoke highly of Greene, describing him as an exceptional character actor who had collaborated with many in the industry. “He was a really great guy,” Edwards noted. They’ve been friends for over a decade.
Greene, originally from Montclair, New Jersey, landed leading roles in the early 90s, such as in “The Laws of Gravity” and “Clean, Shaven.” In 1994, his portrayal of Zed in “Pulp Fiction” caught attention, alongside his part in “The Mask,” featuring Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz.
With nearly 100 acting credits, Greene’s career included appearances in notable films like “The Usual Suspects,” “Blue Streak,” and “Training Day.” His final role was in the recently released movie “Clicka.” At the time of his passing, he was also involved in a documentary project alongside Jason Alexander and Kathleen Turner.
