Jutta Lierdam Celebrates Olympic Success

Dutch speed skater Jutta Lierdam made quite the exit from the Olympic Village, flaunting her newly won gold and silver medals alongside an Hermès Birkin bag carried by her fiancé, Jake Paul. This playful scene was captured in an Instagram video she posted on Thursday.

The engaged couple, who got engaged last March in Italy, was spotted boarding a private jet after Lierdam broke records by finishing first in the women’s 1,000-meter speed skating event with a time of 1 minute 12.31 seconds.

In a lighthearted moment, Paul remarked on Instagram, “Please call me Jutta Lierdam’s fiancé from now on.” It’s amusing how something so simple can feel so significant, right?

On TikTok, Lierdam humorously shared her departure from the Olympic Village, saying, “It’s been a tough journey so far, but I’m leaving with gold and silver and great things.” While showcasing her designer bag, she reflected on her accomplishments.

“I feel very blessed to have a great team around me,” she noted, emphasizing the importance of her supportive circle. “Two years ago, I opted not to join any major team and instead created my own. It turned out to be the right decision—my team has become like family.”

In her heartfelt moments, Lierdam expressed gratitude for her loved ones, saying, “Even if I hadn’t won a medal, they would have been by my side… and now I’m an Olympic champion.” A little bittersweet, if you ask me.

The Olympics have been a wild ride for Lierdam, who arrived in style and was dubbed a “diva” this year. She secured her gold by besting her Dutch teammate Femke Kok in the 1,000m event.

Emotional Moments at the 2026 Winter Olympics

Emotions ran high when Paul was seen tearing up while hugging his mother and Lierdam’s mother in the stands after she won gold. Subsequently, Lierdam secured a silver medal in the 500-meter speed skating race, finishing second to her teammate Kok, which undoubtedly added to the thrill of the experience.

Following her victory, she couldn’t hold back tears, her mascara visibly running down her face—definitely a raw and genuine moment. Lierdam later took to Instagram to share her feelings about the attention she received regarding her makeup, including her iconic winged eyeliner.

Reflecting on her journey, she wrote, “This moment proves you don’t have to put yourself down to achieve something great. Your looks don’t define who you are as a person or an athlete. If you put in the hard work and stay determined, everything will fall into place.”

It’s interesting how something as personal as makeup can hold such significance in sports, isn’t it? Lierdam acknowledged the pressure and choices she navigated to reach this pinnacle, all contributing to her moment of glory.
