Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert didn’t hold back when discussing Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett, labeling her as “radical” and “extreme.” During a recent episode of “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Boebert, seated next to her Texas counterpart, joked about possibly supporting Crockett’s campaign.
“Maybe I should endorse Jasmine Crockett, and then you’ll improve your chances,” she quipped to Democratic Rep. James Talarico.
Interestingly, a recent poll from Hart Research shows Crockett currently leads Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton among Texas voters.
Meanwhile, Talarico’s campaign has been gaining traction, having drawn significant media attention and raising $2.5 million following a canceled interview with late-night host Stephen Colbert due to “equal time” regulations for political candidates. Instead, that interview was posted online and quickly amassed over 8.4 million views.
Crockett remarked on Talarico’s strategy, calling it potentially beneficial for his campaign. Boebert, acknowledging Talarico’s success in the Democratic primary, noted the distinct contrast between him and Crockett.
“That’s why the Democrats are performing well,” she stated. “His opponent is just so far-left and extreme—it’s all a bit of a masquerade.”
After Talarico thanked Boebert for her recognition of his campaign efforts, there was a noticeable shift in tone. He emphasized they are on friendly terms and stated, “We may approach politics differently, but our ultimate goal is to address the longstanding one-party dominance in Texas that has led to extremism and corruption.”
Throughout both late-night appearances, Talarico expressed his opposition to “Christian nationalism” and advocated for the removal of the Ten Commandments from public school settings to uphold church-state separation.
Crockett has faced backlash for her comments regarding the Republican Party, including a striking criticism of its allegiance to President Trump, which she labeled as “loyalty to a wannabe Hitler.”
Fox News Digital reached out to her team but did not receive a response.
