Gavin Newsom’s Controversial Comments in Georgia

There’s something particularly off-putting about a governor, especially one from California, claiming he can relate to his audience solely because of his own struggles.

During a recent event in Georgia, Gavin Newsom tried to connect with Black Americans by revealing that he didn’t do well on the SAT and struggles with reading. It just feels, I don’t know, wrong somehow.

His approach, which many critics view as offensive, comes amidst his tour for a memoir, where he seems less focused on California and more on his aspirations for the presidency.

This situation shines a light on a larger issue within the Democratic Party, where leaders often call out opponents for their perceived racism while hoping their own remarks don’t attract similar scrutiny.

It really is time to put an end to that.

From Hillary Clinton to Joe Biden and now Gavin Newsom, there’s a troubling pattern among left-leaning politicians who seem to use race to twist virtue, create division, and insult their opponents.

Of course, Newsom’s comments didn’t land well. Johnny Morgan, a Republican leader in California, spoke out about it, emphasizing that public servants should engage with their constituents respectfully and acknowledge the historical context of their comments.

And he’s right.

Moreover, it’s disheartening to see elected officials who promote diversity and inclusion yet implement policies that actually worsen conditions for minorities and others.

Newsom certainly fits that mold, doesn’t he?

Honestly, I can’t help but think he’s inadvertently labeling his audience as underachievers with low SAT scores while chatting casually at high-end restaurants.

Just the other day, he responded to those criticizing him for his attitude towards Black voters, dismissing them in a way that’s frankly hard to justify and laced with profanity.

His message seems to be: forget my comments; real racists are out there, and anyone upset by this is simply being dramatic.

The bottom line? It feels like Democrats have a free pass to make racially charged remarks, while the rest of us, well, we’re weary of being labeled as the villains.

Sure, they can critique their political rivals—that’s part of the game. But I think it’s time to stop these tedious lectures on race when, frankly, it seems more like self-serving tactics.

I’m just over it.

This can’t keep happening.

Not after what’s unfolded under Newsom’s leadership.
