Trump says Newsom has exited the presidential race, Governor responds sharply.

Donald Trump recently asserted that Gavin Newsom has withdrawn from the presidential race, suggesting it came after a heated exchange with the California governor’s wife.

On Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Wow! Gavin Newscam just dropped out of the presidential race!!!”

Newsom’s communications team quickly responded on X, stating, “Wow. The President is sunning harder than usual tonight!!!”

This back-and-forth followed a peculiar online dispute between Trump and Jennifer Siebel Newsom, centering around the U.S. Olympic women’s hockey team.

In a humorous comment, Siebel Newsom mentioned that the team might prefer a venue where women are genuinely respected, highlighting the players’ choice not to visit the White House.

While Newsom has not formally declared his candidacy, there is considerable speculation as he travels across the country to promote his new memoir.

This week, he mentioned that he wouldn’t pursue the presidency if his wife and four children opposed it.

When probed by CNN about what might hinder his candidacy, Newsom responded, “There are five things.” He suggested it would need to be a family decision, emphasizing partnership.

When asked if his family was supportive of his potential run, he admitted, “It depends on the day.” He recounted how one of his sons recently emailed him hinting that he should consider running, to which Newsom replied, “We’re going to do it as a family.” His son responded with reluctance, saying, “I’m too young; we need to spend more time together.”

Newsom, who has been gaining a national profile while engaging with Trump on social media, has sparked discussions about his future ambitions beyond the governorship.
