Tonight marks President Trump’s first official State of the Union address of his second term.

Just last year, he delivered an address to Congress shortly after beginning his term, although it wasn’t designated as an official State of the Union.

On Monday, he hinted that his speech might extend even longer than the one from 2025, saying, “It’s going to be a long speech because there’s a lot to talk about.”

In his remarks, Trump is expected to highlight economic progress over the past year, specifically mentioning reduced inflation, and may also discuss international successes like a peace agreement in Gaza and the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro.

He could also bring up topics such as his “reciprocal” tariffs and the Supreme Court’s recent decision to undo tariffs on fentanyl, with various justices anticipated to be seated in the front row.

This year’s State of the Union will include special guests, like Erica Kirk and two young women invited by Melania Trump, who represent the first lady’s values. Additionally, members of the Olympic men’s hockey team, who recently won a gold medal, will be in attendance.

The players expressed excitement about participating, receiving phone invitations to a celebration with FBI Director Kash Patel after their victory. Interestingly, while the invitation was also extended to the gold medal-winning women’s hockey team, they chose not to attend.

What time is the State of the Union address?

The State of the Union address is scheduled for tonight, February 24th, at 9 PM ET.

Democrats plan to respond to the speech at 10:30 PM ET.
