Kamala Harris doesn’t dismiss the possibility of another presidential campaign: ‘I haven’t made up my mind’

Kamala Harris Hints at Future Presidential Run

Former Vice President Kamala Harris left the possibility open on Monday regarding a potential run for the presidency again. During a podcast, host Sharon McMahon asked her directly, “Would you run away again?” Harris responded, “I haven’t decided yet.”

McMahon pressed further, asking, “Are you still thinking about it?” to which Harris replied with a hint of hesitation, “Maybe.”

Harris, now 61, had announced last July that she wouldn’t be running for governor of California. This decision seemingly sets her up for a possible presidential bid in 2028. Before that announcement, it was widely speculated that she was considering three options: a gubernatorial run in 2026, another attempt at the presidency in 2028, or stepping back after her defeat to Donald Trump in 2024.

In hypothetical primary polls, Harris is currently leading among Democrats with 28.3% support, while California Governor Gavin Newsom stands at 20.7%. McMahon expressed that she wasn’t shocked by Harris’ noncommittal answer, suggesting that her memoir, “107 Days,” gave the impression that Harris might still be interested in a shot at the White House.

Despite these interpretations, Harris clarified her stance on the memoir, stating, “No, this book is about a specific time period. There was no agenda beyond what we had already talked about.” She emphasized that her goal was to share a realistic account of her experiences, hoping to inspire young girls reading it to recognize their own potential.
