Trump Invites Controversial Guest to State of the Union
At the recent State of the Union address, President Donald Trump hosted Sage Blair, a young woman who, at 14, was separated from her parents over an alleged attempt by school officials to identify her as male without their knowledge.
According to White House officials, Blair has now reunited with her family and is currently studying at Liberty University, where her mother, Michelle, will join her. Reports indicate that President Trump intends to highlight Blair’s story during his address, advocating for states to prohibit gender reassignment procedures for minors.
A source revealed that Trump is eager to emphasize the stark differences between the Democratic Party’s stance on this issue and his own.
In a legal action taken in 2023, Michelle Blair accused the Appomattox County Public Schools in Virginia of causing harm to her daughter. The lawsuit alleges that school officials secretly altered her daughter’s status despite her existing mental health challenges. It claims that this secrecy exacerbated Sage’s issues, leading her to run away, and eventually falling victim to kidnapping, drugging, and sexual trafficking.
During the ongoing legal proceedings, a judge mandated Sage’s separation from her parents due to the lack of affirmation of her “gender identity.” Subsequently, she was placed in a juvenile facility intended for male adolescents, where the lawsuit asserts she experienced further sexual assault, drug exposure, and a lack of necessary medical and mental health care.
After fleeing from that facility, Sage was tracked down by another predator and taken to Texas, where she was subjected to additional abuse until Texas law enforcement intervened, reunited her with her mother, and returned her to Virginia.
The Trump administration has actively sought to overturn the Biden administration’s initiatives promoting gender ideology in governmental programs. Notably, it has enforced restrictions on gender-altering treatments for minors, investigating hospitals involved in such practices. In December, the HHS proposed regulatory measures aimed at prohibiting hospitals from providing these treatments to minors as a requirement for participating in Medicare and Medicaid.
