Nancy Guthrie’s Neighbor Reports Suspicious Activity Before Her Disappearance
In the weeks leading up to 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie’s mysterious disappearance, a neighbor reported seeing a young man behaving suspiciously in the area. Aldin Meister, who resides in the Catalina Foothills alongside Savannah Guthrie’s mother, described the individual as someone not dressed for a casual walk, with his hat pulled down over his eyes.
Meister recounted that she saw this unknown man near the intersection heading towards Nancy’s home, but after that encounter, he vanished from sight.
“He seemed a bit young and didn’t quite appear to be out just walking,” Meister added. “He just felt out of place.” She mentioned telling her husband about the man but did not notify authorities at that time.
Following the alleged kidnapping of Nancy on February 1 around 2:30 a.m., Meister shared her observation with law enforcement; however, she had no photographs or video to support her claim.
The Catalina Foothills, located in northern Tucson, Arizona, is known for its affluence and low crime rates.
Meister couldn’t pinpoint the exact date she saw the stranger, but she noted that January 11 had been mentioned in discussions with other residents. “It could have been the 11th,” she said, clarifying it was certainly after January 8, when visitors were present in town.
Having lived in the area for 30 years, Meister is now looking to bolster her home’s security with additional surveillance cameras.
Interestingly, existing cameras in the vicinity did not capture any footage on the night of Nancy’s disappearance, according to Meister.
Nancy’s three children, including Savannah, who is 54, are currently offering a reward of $1 million for information that could lead to their mother’s safe return.
As of now, more than three and a half weeks after Nancy vanished, investigators have yet to identify any suspects or have leads in the ongoing case.
