Israel Releases Video of Iranian Airstrike
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has shared footage reportedly showing an attack on Iranian troops who were preparing missile launchers targeted at Israel from western Iran.
In what the IDF describes as potentially the largest military engagement in their history, Israel launched airstrikes on Iranian positions with around 200 fighter jets.
Footage released on Saturday depicts an airstrike on a missile launch site in western Iran, part of a coordinated effort involving both Israel and the United States against Tehran.
The IDF stated that under the guidance of IDF intelligence and the Israeli Air Force, the jets implemented “massive strikes” on various Iranian missile and defense installations across western and central Iran.
According to the IDF, “This was the largest military overflight in the history of the Israeli Air Force, involving hundreds of jets acting in unison, driven by precise planning and high-level intelligence.”
The operations targeted around 500 sites, including missile launchers and air defense systems, effectively establishing air superiority and crippling Iran’s offensive potential.
The IDF noted that these high-altitude military operations successfully neutralized multiple threats against Israeli fighter jets and civilians, asserting that operations in Iran are ongoing.
On Saturday morning, Israel announced the strikes shortly after explosions were reported in Tehran, one of which was allegedly near the office of Supreme Leader Khamenei, though his whereabouts remained unknown at the time.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz remarked that the attacks were executed “to remove the threat.” Various military and governmental symbols of Iran, including its intelligence services, were also targeted, as per anonymous officials who provided details about the operation.
President Trump characterized the collaborative operation as a significant campaign aimed at dismantling Iran’s military capacities and obstructing their nuclear ambitions.
Responses to the military actions have been mixed among global leaders.
In retaliation, Iran has reportedly conducted attacks on U.S. military bases in surrounding nations, sparking widespread condemnation from several Arab states against the Iranian regime’s actions.
