Trump warns Iran of unprecedented violence after reports of mines in the Strait of Hormuz

Trump’s Strong Warning to Iran Amid Ongoing Conflict

As the U.S. and Israel continue their offensive against Iran, President Donald Trump is voicing significant concerns, particularly about oil prices.

On Monday, Trump issued a stern warning to Iran following the nation’s threats. Reports indicated that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has allegedly started laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz.

“We are utilizing advanced technology and missile capabilities, similar to those used against drug traffickers, to eliminate any vessels that attempt to mine the Strait of Hormuz,” he stated. “If Iran is indeed mining in the Strait and it goes unreported, I demand immediate removal! Should a mine be planted and not removed promptly, Iran will face a military response like never before,” he expressed on social media.

It’s estimated that around twenty percent of the world’s oil travels through this strait. Interruptions could result in skyrocketing oil prices, which have already surged over the weekend but have since seen a slight dip.

“Conversely, if they clear the mines, it would signify progress,” he added, reiterating that military technology similar to what’s used against drug traffickers would be deployed against any mining attempts in the area.

“They’ll face direct and punitive measures. So, be cautious,” Trump warned.

Shortly after, he shared another message praising the military for reportedly destroying “ten inactive minelayers and/or vessels.”

On Tuesday, Army Secretary Pete Hegseth described the day as potentially the “most intense of the conflict thus far,” emphasizing that, “we are demonstrating immense technological and military prowess, and we won’t stop until we achieve total and decisive victory.”

Before these military actions began, Secretary of State Marco Rubio cautioned that if Iran were to plant landmines in the Strait of Hormuz, international backlash would be inevitable. “If they place mines there, the consequences will be dire for Iran,” Rubio stated back in June. “It wouldn’t just hurt them; it would have a ripple effect on countries worldwide, including us.”

He further remarked that such actions would be disastrous for Iran, as they would likely provoke a global consensus against them.

In recent weeks, oil prices have increased by about forty percent, notably since the start of Iran’s military activities.
