U.S. Leftists Financed by Singham and Connected to China Visit Cuba for 'Solidarity' Trip

Far-Left Delegation Visits Cuba in Show of Solidarity

This week, a group from the People’s Forum, an organization associated with far-left ideology and linked to the Chinese Communist Party, visited Cuba to showcase their “solidarity” with the Castro regime, particularly against U.S. actions.

According to recent reports, the People’s Forum, which was announced in October, has received significant financial support from tech billionaire Neville Roy Singham, along with his wife, Jodi Evans, who is a co-founder of Code Pink.

Chinese government documents have indicated that Singham has extensive connections to the Chinese regime. Over the years, both the People’s Forum and Code Pink have received millions in funding. These groups were notably involved in protests against Israel and in support of Hamas following the October 7, 2023, terrorist attacks in Israel.

A previous report highlighted that Singham’s connections to China were more intricate than initially thought, linking his consultancy firm, Starstream, based in Shanghai, to Macu, a media organization that supports the Chinese Communist Party.

Manolo de los Santos, the executive director of the People’s Forum and a prominent member, shared on social media that he met with Miguel Díaz-Canel, the Cuban president, emphasizing their camaraderie. He described the U.S. fuel blockade as a “brutal act of economic warfare,” expressing solidarity with the Cuban populace in their opposition to the blockade.

On Tuesday, Cuba’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared images of the International People’s Congress, a pro-regime group, visiting Havana. One of the images featured de los Santos.

As a spokesperson for the People’s Forum, de los Santos is known for his connections to Cuba’s government. He has a history of interactions with Díaz-Canel and other officials since his initial visit to Cuba in 2006 through pro-Castro organizations. His past involvement with communist initiatives is well-documented, including participation in campaigns like “Let Cuba Live,” alongside Hollywood figures.

A 2024 report revealed that members of the People’s Forum engaged in pro-Hamas protests on U.S. campuses with support and training from Cuba. De los Santos was reported to have been involved in a recent disruption at Columbia University.

In a recent conversation, U.S. Rep. Chip Roy called for an investigation into leftist groups like the People’s Forum that organize protests against the U.S. He underscored their potential illegal involvement with foreign interests.

Roy remarked on the alarming nature of these meetings with Cuban officials, calling for immediate action to investigate these networks operating within the U.S.

The People’s Forum also announced they plan to send a delegation of 40 people to Cuba soon, stating their involvement with another leftist group focused on sending “humanitarian aid” to the island.

De los Santos, in addition to his support for Cuba, has openly backed Venezuela’s socialist regime as well. Recently, he penned an op-ed criticizing U.S. operations in Venezuela, framing them as detrimental to the people there.

His writings have appeared in outlets that carry leftist perspectives, arguing that Venezuela’s new partnerships with the U.S. are merely tactical maneuvers to protect its interests.

Additionally, reports in January suggested that de los Santos played a role in organizing protests in New York advocating for the release of the Venezuelan dictator, Nicolás Maduro, who is currently facing multiple charges from U.S. authorities and is awaiting a court hearing.
