Airline Snack Woes: A Passenger’s Cheez-It Experience
Being on a plane, especially during a long flight, can be a real challenge. And when the only food option is a lackluster selection of snacks, it doesn’t help at all.
Recently, a Delta Air Lines passenger took to TikTok, sharing a rather disheartening image of the meager bag of Cheez-Its received as an in-flight meal. The user, known as @kelligt, who has racked up almost 800,000 views, captioned the post with a humorous take: “Flying can make you a little hungry, especially when you’re soaring at 30,000 feet. Fortunately, Delta offers some fun meal options. I had the pleasure of enjoying Cheez-Its, a classic that’s always a crowd-pleaser,” she joked.
As she turns the bag for the camera, it becomes apparent that there are barely any cheese crackers inside, the bag looking nearly deflated.
When she manages to tear it open, she’s left with precisely three Cheez-Its. Yes, just three.
Although it’s not clear where the flight was headed, the online reactions were swift and comedic.
“Three Jits,” quipped one user.
Another chimed in sarcastically, “I hope you’re hungry. It’s not free.”
One comment cleverly noted, “One for takeoff, one for the duration, and one for when you land,” highlighting how absurd this serving was.
“This is the GLP-1 part,” added yet another user.
In contrast, some good news comes from United Airlines, which has decided to reintroduce the beloved Dutch snack, Stroopwafels, on select flights. An airline spokesperson mentioned that these snacks will be a part of their complimentary economy food and beverage service on flights longer than 300 miles.
Why United decided to bring back Stroopwafels isn’t clear, but it’s certainly a better option than the three tiny crackers offered by competitors.
