Young Christians Are Rediscovering Their Faith
A 22-year-old Christian influencer believes that a growing number of young Americans are reconnecting with their faith. This shift, he suggests, is partly fueled by frustration with the superficial aspects of social media and a longing for deeper meaning in their lives.
“People are just tired of fakeness. We want something more real,” Bryce Crawford shared on “Fox & Friends” recently. He added, “We’re constantly bombarded with fluff—through our phones, our desires, thinking we can find satisfaction in different things. But many are starting to realize that it just isn’t cutting it anymore. They crave genuine truth.” It seems fair to say that if that’s the case, then yes, they need something real.
Crawford is actively leading a revival among young people, spreading the gospel both on the streets and through his extensive social media presence.
Having grown up in a Christian household, Crawford turned to his faith to find peace after struggling with anxiety and depression during his teen years.
“When I was 17, I almost made a decision that I couldn’t take back because I thought it was the only way to escape my pain,” he reflected. “But on the night I was about to make that choice, I reached out to Jesus with a prayer, asking Him to help me with my anxiety and depression. I haven’t felt the same way since.”
More than five years have passed since that pivotal moment for Crawford, who describes it as stepping into a new life in Christ. He is now leading the “I Love Jesus” tour, which aims to travel across states and cities to spread the gospel and bring people together around the Christian message.
He emphasizes the importance of approaching others with understanding rather than viewing them merely as statistics. “These are real human beings created in the image of God,” he noted. “We want to ask intentional, often tough, questions—like whether they have faith or what they think happens after death. Everyone has their perspective on Jesus, and it’s crucial to explore that.”
Crawford believes that the resurgence of Christianity among his generation, Gen Z, stems from a growing recognition that only Christ can truly fulfill them. “We’ve chased after so many things—people, relationships, substances—and in the end, they don’t provide lasting satisfaction,” he explained. “People are beginning to understand their need for something eternal and perfect—something that can sustain them. And I believe Jesus is alive and actively working in the hearts of those who are ready to embrace Him.”
