Maine Senate Race: Criticism of Senator Collins
As the race for the Maine Senate seat intensifies, Liz Wheeler of Blaze TV has some strong words for Senator Susan Collins. Rather than being seen as a stabilizing moderate, she refers to Collins as a “disruptor” within the Republican Party.
According to Wheeler, Collins has always projected an image of a moderate Republican, perhaps even leaning towards being a liberal Republican. “She’s not exactly a social conservative,” Wheeler notes, but adds that the political climate in Maine is challenging for Collins, as the state is looking to elect a senator who does not fit that moderate mold.
In her remarks, Wheeler points out that this potential new senator has a visible tattoo associated with Nazi symbolism. She describes him as a Democrat who has not only trained a militia but is also open about his communist beliefs.
“I’m talking about Graham Platner,” she states, explaining that Platner seems to be gaining traction in Maine and might even have better approval ratings than Collins. This situation puts Collins at risk of losing her seat, and Wheeler emphasizes that it might require a mobilization of support to keep her in office. However, she questions what motivation there is to support Collins if she appears to align more with a candidate like Platner.
Wheeler believes that Collins’ voting record does not support the president’s policies, which complicates her position. She recalls instances where Collins was critical of President Trump’s CDC nominee, suggesting a history of divergence from party ideals.
“Collins has accepted nearly $250,000 from the pharmaceutical and health products industry during her time in politics,” she notes, calling Collins “the most destructive to the MAHA agenda in our party.” Wheeler ultimately labels her as “the vandal masquerading as one of us.”
