Colorado School Administrator on the Run for Alleged Rape of a Minor
A Colorado school administrator is currently evading authorities after being accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy. Police report that Brenda Meza, 34, allegedly remarked that the victim was more masculine than her husband during their illicit relationship.
This unsettling observation was made over a span of several months while she was involved with the eighth-grader from Franklin Middle School, according to details from an arrest affidavit. The warrant claims that Meza felt a connection to the boy, as if they had known each other in a past life.
The victim described her comment as “cliché” but decided to roll with it. Meza has been missing since the investigation began, which revolves around claims that she drugged the boy with alcohol and marijuana during their encounters in parks and parking lots.
Authorities in Greeley, Colorado, have not been able to track down Meza since they first reached out to her regarding the serious allegations. During questioning, Meza admitted to discovering the boy’s Instagram account during Thanksgiving. This eventually led to them exchanging nude photos and her grooming him.
According to the complaint, they met in a Walmart parking lot in January, where they consumed Buzz Balls cocktails and edible marijuana before engaging in sexual activity for the first time. Over the following weeks, Meza reportedly had sex with the boy on two more occasions.
Additionally, she is said to have sent him multiple texts declaring her love and expressed feelings of jealousy when she noticed him interacting with female classmates.
The investigation into this troubling situation began after the school received an anonymous tip on February 12. Shortly afterward, Meza confessed to her husband about having an inappropriate encounter with the teen while under the influence. This confession prompted her husband to contact the police.
Meza was placed on administrative leave and subsequently fired on February 28. Despite efforts to locate her, police have remained unsuccessful. During a traffic stop on March 11, Meza’s husband claimed he was unaware of her whereabouts and was heading toward the Mexican border.
Law enforcement plans to charge Meza with twelve felony counts, including child sexual assault, online child enticement, tampering with evidence, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
