Months prior to the release of video showing Taylor Frankie Paul in a disagreement with Dakota Mortensen, she appeared to allude to the situation on TikTok.
In a clip from August 2025, the “Secrets of a Mormon Wife” star was seen lip-syncing to Rihanna’s 2007 song “Breaking Dish.”
She sang, “Is he cheating on me? Hey, I don’t know. I’m looking around for something else to throw/I’ve been here all night smashing dishes/I won’t stop until I see a police light,” all while smiling in her car.
At the top of the video, she wrote, “Tip: Don’t throw things, you might see police lights,” and added a humorous caption, “Please don’t.”
As interest in the clip grew again, many comments were scathing, with one noting, “This has aged terribly,” and another adding, “Well, this is ironic.”
Following the resurfacing of the video, Paul’s camp did not respond quickly to requests for comments.
The video gained renewed attention after ABC canceled her upcoming season of The Bachelorette, which would have premiered soon, citing the release of the 2023 altercation footage.
In a statement, the network noted, “In light of today’s newly released video, we have made the decision not to proceed with a new season of The Bachelorette at this time and are focused on supporting our family.”
Paul’s spokesperson commented on the matter, stating, “Taylor is very grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes the safety and security of her family.”
The spokesperson elaborated, saying, “After enduring years of extensive emotional and physical abuse and threats of retribution in silence, Taylor has finally found the strength to confront her accusers and is taking steps to ensure she and her children are protected from further harm.”
Mortensen’s representatives later rejected Paul’s allegations of abuse, calling them “baseless.”
In footage from 2023 obtained by TMZ, Paul can be seen throwing a metal stool at Mortensen, with her then-5-year-old daughter Indy nearby.
Mortensen asserted in the video that he heard Indy crying and felt he was “hit in the head.” Paul, on her part, claimed to the police that her ex threw her to the ground before the recording began.
Paul was arrested during this incident and faced multiple charges, later reducing them through a plea agreement to a misdemeanor for aggravated assault, resulting in a three-year suspended sentence. Other charges were dismissed, as she shared in a September appearance.
Another alleged altercation between Paul and Mortensen came to light in February, with officials noting that “the allegations go both ways.”
Recently, Mortensen sought a restraining order in Utah, claiming that Paul had choked her during another incident.
A source close to Mortensen stated that he’s focused on their son amid the unfolding situation, noting, “He knew this could lead to him coming out, but he didn’t actively plan on doing so because he’s always wanted a decent relationship with Taylor.”
Lastly, the representative mentioned, “He’s never given any sit-down interviews on his side,” adding, “He just wanted this issue to go away without saying anything, as usual.” It seems he’s now coming to terms with the seriousness of the situation.
