The Banana Trend: A Surprising Revelation
It might not be obvious, but bananas are currently experiencing a resurgence in popularity.
That vibrant butter yellow hue is popping up everywhere, banana-flavored coffee is making its way onto café menus as we transition into spring, and you’ll see this tropical fruit increasingly featured in beauty products—think skincare, lip balms, and perfumes.
I consider myself a banana skeptic. To put it mildly, I genuinely dislike bananas—their taste, their smell, everything about them. So, I honestly wasn’t sure I’d ever want to wear anything banana-scented, like a body mist or perfume.
But I’m also a bit of a food enthusiast, which is why I felt a tug of curiosity. Fragrance aisles are loaded with dessert-like scents, so could my aversion to bananas extend to body mists? Or would my appreciation for sweet, creamy fragrances with fruity hints win out?
So far, I’ve only tried a sample of the Ellis Brooklyn Banana Milkshake Body & Hair Perfume Mist, and I have to admit, it pleasantly surprised me.
This fragrance opens with delightful notes of banana milk, cantaloupe, and papaya, transitioning into hints of apricot peel, vanilla orchid, and pineberry. The scent settles into a cozy blend of vanilla ice cream, rum wood, and tonka bean, creating a richness that endures throughout the day.
It’s intricate and multi-layered—a fantastic choice for spring and summer.
The Banana Milkshake mist comes in two sizes, but it’s wise to opt for the larger one; it’s a better value at around $5 per ounce compared to about $9 for the smaller bottle.
Trust me on this. Despite my previous sentiments, this banana scent truly deserves recognition. So, why not treat yourself this National Fragrance Day on March 21st? Consider adding this to your collection!
