Senator Fetterman Critiques Democratic Response to Protesters
Pennsylvania’s Democratic Senator John Fetterman voiced his disappointment with fellow Democrats after a video surfaced showing left-wing protesters calling for the deaths of U.S. soldiers. In a candid post on his social media, he expressed confusion over the lack of outrage from his party regarding these aggressive protests.
In the video, the protesters fiercely shouted, “These bastards are crying out for the death of our soldiers. Where is the anger and condemnation of the Democratic Party?” They continued, rallying the crowd with declarations that, for every American base lost or soldier returned in a coffin, they would cheer.
As cheers and applause filled the air among the demonstrators, chants of “Hamas! Hezbollah!” followed, praising various resistance forces. They lauded the groups engaged in direct confrontations with Zionism and spoke of the importance of Iranian support in these conflicts.
Fetterman, addressing the scene in Philadelphia, commented on the chilling atmosphere. “It’s so scary. Where is the anger and condemnation of the Democratic Party?” he asked rhetorically. His remarks come as he’s frequently found himself at odds with party lines, leaving many to question whether he might switch to the Republican Party, though most doubt he’ll make that leap.
He has not shied away from expressing discontent with the Democratic Party’s leadership, referring to it as directionless and plagued by “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” He noted that many in the party struggle to acknowledge anything positive from the opposing side without facing backlash. “I think it leaves us without a voice,” he remarked, referring to the climate in his party.
Despite his occasional alignment with certain Republican policies and his support for Israel, Fetterman’s popularity among Pennsylvania voters has sharply declined. Recent polling indicates a significant disapproval rating among Democrats in the state, leading some analysts to predict that if he seeks re-election, he will encounter formidable opposition.
“There’s really no comparison,” noted a CNN polling analyst, asserting that Fetterman’s unpopularity within his own party is unprecedented. If he opts to run as a Democrat again, it will likely be a tough battle.
